About
The Reasonista is a blog that’s been a while coming.
I’m Sally Kimbel, and I’ve been an online retailer since 2006, mostly selling vintage dinnerware and table accessories. I continue to write a blog on this topic, Diary of a Dishie, begun in 2008.
The Reasonista is my fourth blog. I didn’t set out to have multiple blogs, but things have evolved this way. I’ve been adding information to my product-centered business. And, experiences in business (and life) need a place to be expressed.
This is it.
When I look around and see our current business environment and society, it seems that reasoning (or rational thought) is a piece that people are reaching for, especially when emotion gets out of balance.
We need our emotions, but I don’t think we should be led around by the nose with them. Tempering them with some reasoning allows a better balance. And intuition, or “following your gut” is also vital, in my opinion.
The Reasonista will explore these interactions, with an eye to balance, and the practical application of thinking through situations in a balanced mindset.
Business is a creative engine for the manifestation of ideas. As they reach expression, those ideas may look different than a painting, a novel, or a sculpture, but the same creative process is at work.
I hope you will enjoy these explorations – through the ideas, stories that illustrate them, and the practical applications they can have — as you create your business and live your life. Perhaps The Reasonista will help you see a different perspective that will, in turn, turn on a useful light bulb in your own mind.
